Karthi in 'Kaithi'
You might have till now seen mass genre that consists of cringy action sequences to gunfight scenes that have a lot of hustle and bustle. Let's take this as conventional mass. If you are watching Kaithi after seeing these kinds of conventional mass films I assure you you will never compare both. Although it is true the film consists of the usual traditional mass features that are passed on from generations to generations of action filmmakers. You might even wonder why it happens like that. If you have a spot beyond the conventional mass films then that is where Kaithi resides a spot.

But isn't it wrong to see a thing as two? In a way its a discrimination. But the viewers are supporting this discrimination. If we look at the night sky we could possibly see a lot of stars around. But what if a star falls to the ground, Will anyone pays any attention to the stars above them. No, But yet they are both stars. But why doesn't anyone look at the stars that are above them in that situation? It is because anyone relates to the star that is on the earth near them.

The thing about the cinema is also like that even if we take it in this film's case too. Everything has been redefined here. From the beginning of action cinemas, the hero of the film has been smashing the villains to a pulp. From the beginning of action cinemas, people are cheering and showing their support for the hero. But why is it like that?

It is because the hero defeating the villain is the only thing that has not been changed since the beginning of the action films in the industry, just, the factors such as when, why and how and in which situation is changed accordingly from time to time. Emotions no matter what will never change is a common saying here. In a crucial moment when the hero of the story is beaten down by the villain it is just like that, and if the hero's six years old daughter is sitting looking at him,  if he is beaten nearly to death if there is a situation that he will stand up again to fight back, each and every ordinary audience will have the excitement to see that and if it is done in a manner that is fresh to the audience do we have to say more about it.

But in such a situation that is so terrifying, anyone can show their mass. Even if it is a situation where for the daughter a dog is set out to do rescue operation people will clap their hands and appreciate it. That is where Kaithi is again different from others. There is a scene in the film where the hero is asked whether he knows how to drive a lorry and how he normally drives his lorry. So the question is how can we get chills seeing the hero drive a normal lorry which is also useless to do any stunts with either. If it is done in a way that will make the audience enjoy then think of the director's brilliance which I will not be explaining more and because there is no need to disinterest you with them. But the truth is that I cannot control myself to withhold myself from saying.

In the film Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, the hero runs behind many villains and finally catches them. But there is no fun in it. Although it is also correct, we also think like it. Also couldn't there have been more mass action in Theeran and wouldn't it be better with more action like that. But we can't think like that. Because the necessary fun needed for the film was gotten by the director. But how does Kaithi stand a step ahead from the conventional mass films? It is a wonder. Just like that, it is not something like that neither is it connected.

But how that is the victory of the film. To make the audience clap their hands with appreciation the hero does not necessarily be a fighter for the world or for the greater good. This is where the director Lokesh Kanagaraj's brilliance lies. This common misconception is what has been broken by the director. If people have to stand with the villain has to smoke a cigarette or kill two people and smile menacingly to show his nefarious and cunning nature. Nothing much is needed all are included in the Lokesh magic. To say that it is the best mass film of actor Karthi's career, I have to first see all his mass films which I have clearly not. But I can say this from all the 15 mass films that I have ever seen Karthi's Dilli also reserves an honourable position.

From the villain's final dialogue "Sambandham irukk daa, avan per Dilli" it is clear that there will be a second part to the film. But what I think is just like in the scene in the film Baasha in which Rajinikanth closes the door which leads to his flashback. If the coming is a flashback then there is even a chance to have a 3rd instalment to the film if we closely observe it.

In Theeran a saying by the villains just passed through me in lightning speed it is said in the film "Manushangalode budhi sanam mattum thaan nanke saname ippadi achu." Yes in the film, we can see that Dilli is a character in the film Kaithi who is fighting for a chance to see his daughter, not someone who fights for petty amounts of money. The hero of the film wants to educate his daughter by joining her to a school. He even says it to a police officer in a scene. He hasn't been having the money till now to educate. So if you ask whether or not he is a big don it's uncertain. In another scene, he says to a young guy who doesn't trust in God that he will start to trust soon. He wants peace in what is left in his life but the world doesn't cooperate with him. Due to the situation if he takes his old behaviour out maybe like Mohanlal in Chenkol or even above it a masterpiece might be created in the next part. This Kaithi can wait to see wonders.
